The Vlerick Reward Management Centre creates and disseminates knowledge on reward management in organisations. By the means of its research, it aims at inspiring practitioners by identifying interesting practices, making a synthesis of relevant research by other academics as well as conducting high-quality research itself. The centre has a specific focus on the strategic alignment of rewards, the employee experience with rewards, as well as on executive remuneration. It bridges the gap between knowledge and action, amongst others by learning from practice. More information can be found here.

The job

  • Conduct research on reward management and executive remuneration in their strategic, psychological and corporate governance contexts, in collaboration with faculty members and other researchers.
  • Plan research projects in the field of reward management; identify relevant research questions, use the right methodology etc.
  • Conduct desk research; find and make a synthesis of relevant publications.
  • Develop questionnaires and other setups for field data collection.
  • Collect & analyze data. Look for and test relevant relationships.
  • Provide input for the development of tools.
  • Disseminate knowledge by writing (academic) papers, reports, articles and social media posts. Present research findings to both business and academic audiences.
  • Provide support for our teaching activities, both in executive education and in MBA/Master courses.
  • Provide support for other activities of the department or Vlerick business School at large.


  • Have a master’s degree and a research mind-set.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of English and Dutch.
  • Are excited to conduct desk and field research which will inspire practitioners and which has solid academic foundations.
  • Can work autonomously but are also a team player.
  • Have a proactive attitude and great analytical skills. Knowledge of SPSS and other data-analysis tools is a plus.
  • Have great writing skills.
  • Will be located on our campus in Ghent.
