Senior Researcher Energy Centre

What does this role entail?

You are hired to work on the research we conduct in the Vlerick Energy Centre. We started to organize round tables on the latest Belgian energy policy developments[1], and we also have a pilot training program on electricity markets for the Belgian market. You will help consolidate and grow these activities for the Belgian energy community. Are you an experienced researcher, with a passion for energy, then we would like to get to know you!

As a researcher of the Vlerick Energy Centre, you will:

  • Conduct research in collaboration with the energy team
  • Disseminate knowledge by writing papers, reports and articles, social media and present research findings to both business and academic audiences
  • Provide support for our teaching activities, both in executive education and in MBA/Master courses
  • Help to attract company research funding and public research funding from national and/or EU level by writing proposals and developing contacts

What do we expect from you?

  • You obtained your Master’s degree in energy engineering or energy economics
  • You have experience in writing research proposals
  • You have an extrovert personality
  • You have strong analytic skills
  • You want to conduct research relevant for the academic and the business world
  • You have good writing and computing skills
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch, and you speak French very well
  • You can work autonomously but above all you are a team player
  • You have a proactive and ‘can do’ attitude towards both colleagues and clients
  • International mindset is an absolute requirement
  • You will be located on campus Leuven, Brussels or Gent, start is foreseen as from January 2019
