The School of Business develops individuals to achieve leadership, management, global citizenship, and employability potential through business-relevant, research-informed education. The school offers degree, diploma, and certificate programs. Its Bachelor of Business Administration program is internationally recognized as one of the best business programs and accredited by EFMD.

The School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in management. The successful candidate will be expected to teach lower- and specialized upper-level courses in management with a particular focus on introductory management courses, new business development and entrepreneurship, global strategic management, strategic management (theory and practice). The successful applicant may also be required to develop courses and programs in these areas. The position is subject to budgetary approval.

We seek applicants who share our passion for, and commitment to, excellence in undergraduate teaching in a student-centered environment, and who successfully integrate their scholarship into their teaching. Related to these principles, applicants are expected to contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Applicants must have exceptional communication and teaching skills, and demonstrable ability to develop experiential and applied research opportunities for students.  An ability to teach across traditional disciplinary boundaries would be an asset.

The successful applicant must be able to incorporate or reflect Indigenous perspectives or ways of teaching and learning into their curriculum.

As a teaching-oriented institution, we are seeking a collegial, energetic and innovative individual who has successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level and who communicates effectively with students both in and out of the classroom; is able to instruct across a range of the undergraduate courses offered by the department; and can develop new and innovative courses.

Experience and interest in developing experiential learning opportunities, including internships, study abroad and co-curricular activities is highly desirable. Demonstrable experience in technology-supported teaching (e.g. hybrid, on-line, experiential, and computer-assisted learning) would be an asset.

Applicants will have a strong record of research productivity commensurate with their experience; demonstrated ability to establish a successful research program; and an ability to incorporate their research into applied and experiential learning opportunities for students. The successful applicant will be expected to develop innovative and internationally recognized research programs and to obtain external funding.

The successful applicant will be expected to actively participate in departmental activities and service, initiatives, as well as contribute to academic leadership.  A commitment to an ongoing program of professional development is required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a PhD, DBA, or DBL in strategic management, entrepreneurship, leadership, or a related field from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution, or solid indication of imminent completion. The applicant must also have at least five years of relevant industry experience in at least one of these areas.

Relevant post-doctoral or industrial experience is highly desirable.
