The Department of Service Sector Management's key strengths lie in its relationships across the four subject areas of hospitality, tourism, food and events management. Synthesising applied learning with academic rigour the subject areas deliver established and renowned portfolios of undergraduate and postgraduate courses both in the UK and internationally.
Research is critical to what we do, and is a central part of the departments drive towards a successful REF 2020/21 (submissions to UoA24, UoA3 and UoA 17) and AACSB accreditation. The department has two emergent signature research areas:
Now we're looking for a professor who can lead the growth of one of these areas by delivering world class research and high quality teaching. Vitally, you will also play a key leadership role, developing early career researchers and nurturing research and knowledge creation across the department.
You will have an outstanding record of publishing research that can make a significant impact and the ability and drive to inspire others to do the same. With a profile of income generation and ideally a record of supervising PhDs, you will have the ability to lead in both teaching and research.
