IÉSEG School of Management – Lille Economics and Management (LEM – CNRS) invites applications for a temporary, 24-month fully-funded postdoctoral position in Finance (Lille Campus, starting September 2023). The selected candidate will be part of the department of “Finance”.

ABOUT THE FINANCE DEPARTMENT

The department of “Finance” consists of over 30 full-time academic staff who is involved in several programs, with many of them including topics related to sustainable finance, green finance or climate finance, for instance the Grande Ecole Program, the MSc in Finance, the MSc in Banking, Capital Markets and Financial Technology, the Apprenticeship program in Financial Institutions: Risk, Compliance, and Data Analytics as well as the Executive Program in Financial Management. The School provides ample resources to support a variety of research interests and activities (Business Source Complete, WRDS, CRSP, Refinitiv Tick History, Refinitiv Workspace, Datastream and Bloomberg among others). ABOUT THE POSITION

Research will be a strong focus of the selected candidate as he/she/they will contribute to the vibrant research community at IESEG through their commitment to research excellence. He/she/they will join a dedicated research team to conduct high-quality research and will collaborate with Professor Renaud BEAUPAIN. He/she/they will receive regular mentorship and will be expected to disseminate his/her/their research through journal submissions and conference presentations. He/she/they is expected to conduct research with the team members.

The research may focus on topics including (but not limited to) the following:

• Market microstructure
• Money markets
• Collateral markets and repo transactions
• Financial networks
• Text mining and machine learning

The selected candidate is expected to hold a PhD and have a proven research track record. Previous research background in (some of) the topics listed above is a plus.

In terms of teaching, the selected candidate will also be involved in some (limited) teaching activities in Finance at the undergraduate, graduate and/or postgraduate level. As such, we are looking for candidates with good teaching skills, and who are fluent in English, as most courses are taught in this language. Professional experience and knowledge of French are a plus, but not a requirement.

WORKING AT IÉSEG

The selected applicant is expected to begin his/her/their assignment in September 2023. The appointment is for 24 months. Gross salary is competitive with other European research and academic institutions. The researcher will be based on the campus of IÉSEG School of Management in Lille.
